Day-to-day control and management of the Accounting of the Packaging Solutions Financial Operations Division. Prepare, manage and control of financial/operational intra-group communications. Preparation of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP. Maintain compliance with internal control policy & practice. Responsible for department training, appraisals and payroll approvals. Support the Business Unit Financial Manager in preparation of a wide variety of financial and business analyses for financial and general management. Support must include assessments, observations, recommendations and summaries to assist management in taking appropriate actions and decision making. Direction, coordination and consolidation of actual results in line with defined monthly schedule and supporting the Financial Manager in detailing the actual results.
Responsibilities:
Direct supervision of accounting staff within the organization.
Develop, standardize and enhance reporting and analysis for critical business activity including monthly operating reviews, quarterly operating reviews, forecast risk and opportunity identification, productivity, capital spending, sales and operations plans, etc.
Facilitate capital spending business case development, approval tracking, and monitoring.
Direct, coordinate and consolidate the Packaging Solutions forecast, annual plan, strategic plan, and report actual results.
Lead monthly forecast risk and opportunity reviews. Consolidate and communicate forecast risks and opportunities to upper management per due dates.
Provide backup and support to lead accountant roles for financial closing, balance sheet reconciliation, reporting and compliance activities.
Lead and participate in a variety of process improvement projects to enhance accounting, forecasting, planning, reporting or operational procedures.
Assist in creating and reporting the annual operating plans and long range strategic business plans.
Project cost analysis, analyze, reconcile, review monthly revenue and cost for shipped units prepare financial deviation for over budget projects.
Review actual results to forecast and plan.
Ensure backlog accuracy for forecasting and planning purposes.
Prepare and distribute managerial reports.
Answer daily formal and informal questions from an extensive global internal customer base.
Interface with Corp IT Support when needed on the accounting system.
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Accounting. MBA, CPA, CMA, is desirable.
Minimum of 7 to 10 years total experience that would include at least 3 years working in a manufacturing environment and 3 years of supervisory experience.
Record of improving business processes and driving financial performance.
Understanding of SOX, GAAP, internal controls, and ability to identify and resolve process control weaknesses.
Preferred:
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and CRM reporting tools (Oracle /Hyperion) including the ability to extract, organize, analyze, and report data in a manner that is useful and relevant for making business decisions.
Knowledge of manufacturing and distribution business processes to perform detailed reviews of procedures and systems and to make recommendations for improvement.
Ability to interpret and explain financial results to a non-financial audience.
Ability to answer daily formal and informal questions from a broad audience independently, accurately, and timely.
Develop broad technical and communication skills through extensive self-study, internal and external training opportunities.
Provide advice and solutions by communicating and interacting extensively with personnel including Sales, Engineering, Procurement, and Project Management departments.
